About Us:

Our farm is an Australian family-owned stone fruit enterprise specialising in peaches and nectarines. We are a fruit supplier with many years’ experience in the industry catering to the domestic and overseas markets, based in North West Victoria, Swan Hill.

We are actively seeking a suitable person who has experience in horticulture/stone fruit farming to fill this position.

Job Description:

• Determine hydraulic parameters for an irrigation system
• Implement an irrigation-related program
• Schedule irrigations
• Select and manage pumping systems for irrigation
• Interpret and apply irrigation designs
• Supervise irrigation system installations
• Supervise irrigation maintenance.

Skills / Experience Required:

• An agricultural / horticultural background with proven skills and knowledge
• Having substantial experience and a fundamental understanding of farm operations
• This role requires someone who has had previous experience working in the agricultural/horticultural industry
• Demonstrate a record of skills and
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer literate
• Multiple language skills preferable
• Work as part of a team
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Able to analyse and solve problems
• Enthusiastic and willingness to work towards achieving the business objectives
• Able to interpret and follow OH&S protocols
• Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Qualifications:

At least a relevant Certificate II or equivalent, AND at least 1 year (20 hours or more per week) relevant post qualification experience, OR have at least 2 years (38 hours or more per week) relevant experience.

Seasonal workers for 2026/2027

PETER WHITE ORCHARD is located in Woorinen North, Victoria, and grows stone fruit such as Nectarines, Peaches and Plums. Currently, we are looking for seasonal workers to join our busy picking team. The picking season starts from November to March (starting and finishing days vary year to year). New pickers are trained at our orchard.
Requirements:
– Able to carry picking bags that can weigh up to 10 kilograms.
– Use step ladders.
– Resilience to handle warm temperatures.
– Pick correct colour and size of fruit specifications set by farm managers.
– Be able to work as part of a team.
Occupational Health and Safety
Before starting work, the workers are given information about work safety procedures. Detailed information on how to use proper PE such as sun protection, gloves, broad brimmed hats, long sleeved shirts and sun cream is given. The information about climbing ladders safely and tractor safety is also provided. As a part of this process, workers must advise management of any pre-existing injuries.
